What the hell did this cat do to earn money? He lives in probably the most expensive city in the country, has his own house, and a car, he does poetry in night clubs and helps a butcher in her butcher shop, but never is it explained what he actually does to earn money. I know stuff like this shouldn't bother me about movies, but it does.
shareHe performs at that coffee shop regularly, doing his original poems with musical backgrounds (not sure what the official job title is for that kind of thing), since she introduced him as "our own" Charlie Mackenzie. Perhaps he travels around doing that (although we see no proof of that) and/or also sells his works. But, yeah, you don't expect that kind of gig would pay the bills. And he sure has an awful lot of time on his hands...
