Good Movie

I don't understand why the ratings on this board are so low. Today I'm watching it again, which is probably the 5th time I've seen it over the years.

Agreed.

Very good film. Accomplished exactly what is set out to do.

It's not like it was trying to be a Hitchcock film.

reply

Sort of half-watched it. In my opinion, definitely better than a lot of films on IMDb that have 5+ stars.

It's not massively clever, it doesn't have any real underlying meaning as far as I could tell. Just good, pure entertainment.

To me is a good movie too, I don't understand why people hate it so much.

reply

I think people hate it because it deviated entirely away from the book.

Love is never having to say you're sober.

reply

I liked it as well. Thought it was a good thriller.

reply

Ditto....i also like it, own it, and re-watch it every few years.

reply

It's extremely watchable. But not much else.

William Baldwin is quite fine. And his glutes are the best part of the movie.

Sharon Stone is a more than capable leading lady, much better clothed than not. (See also Basic Instinct Part 2: Risk Addiction)

Colleen Camp almost steals the entire film with her performance as Carly's bestie / co-worker.

Martin Landau is, as always, refined and gives the film an air of class.

C.C.H. Pounder is always a joy to watch.

Polly Walker is wonderfully ott as Carly's new neighbor and potential love-sex rival.

The full, uncut version is thee version to see. The cut version is crap.
