please help!desperate looking for old movies name

hi,
maybe someone remembers the movies.they are some tai chi,iron monkey style kung fu flicks,im searching them for so long!
i mostly remember these scenes!
one had a scene where someone smashes his sword into the ground,the ground cracks and the "shokwaves" split a horse with rider in half..

the other hat some kind of arena fight in the desert in it,the arenawalls where more like sticks in the ground with white flags or something(dont remember all too well)then the contestants, each with different fightingstyles battled inside.was like a tournament
