I watched this movie several times when I was younger and absolutely loved it. I am still crazy about horses even now and would like to see this movie again. It was probably the best story about a horse that I have ever seen. I would also like to read the book. It sounds very interesting!

Me too. I absolutely love this film. The whole thing was very spiritual and moving, not to mention the beautiful music. The only complaint I have is that it should've been totally about the horses and not had the people parts in it, but that's what the fast forward button is for.
I remember I was reading a magazine or something with my mom and I saw the word "brumby" and read out the title of the movie. My mom, being a major horse freak, recognized the title and said she'd rent the movie out. Boy was I glad she did. This is one of my favorite horse flicks along with Black Beauty and the Black Stallion.
My only complaint is the lack of DVD availability outside of Australia and no soundtrack release. Paramount needs to get their heads out of their arse and release this movie on region one DVD in widescreen format and with Dolby Digital 5.1, plus lots of extras such as outtakes, director's commentary, bloopers, behind the scenes footage and of course cast and crew bios. I'd also love a CD soundtrack since the music was so beautiful.
Another good horse movie that i loved was "the horse whisper". But the silver stallion is still my favorite!
shareI think that you'll find that the books are *much* better than the film! :) I remember when my mum found me the first one at a jumble sale and I was completely hooked.
