WORST MOVIE EVER

Upon first viewing, I didn't care for this movie either. This was back in 94 when it first arrived on video. I couldn't understand it at all. Years later I watched it again after reading a synopsis of what it was about. It made more sense, and I found I actually appreciated it more. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's not terrible.

On a side note, I was visiting my cousins in Stillwater in 2002 and got a chance to see director Sam Shepard's and wife Jessica Lange's house. This was shortly before it went up for sale. Nice pad.

I only watched this movie because River's in it, but I must say that this is easily my least-favorite of his movies. It's honestly boring...I think his performance is good, but the movie itself isn't anything special.

...the movie is an abject mess.

This could be River's greatest performance, and his scenes are a riveting reminder of what kind of adult actor he was becoming, but the film around him clearly doesn't work at all, and it doesn't know what it wants to be.
