Incest and recovered memory

This is a well acted, though sometimes overwrought, TV movie that addresses two hot-button issues: incest and recovered memory. While the urgency of the former makes this compelling viewing, the latter has lost some of its credibility in the 18 years since this film aired.

Can anyone with greater familiarity of Shari Karney's case explain whether her recovered memories have more credibility than presented here? The process in which her memories of incest come to light seem rather random, and her parents' denial seems equally strong.

I find Shari Karney's claim not at all credible. It's a case of her word against that of her parents, whom I actually find more believable.
