I think its an open-ended ending. We see Mary Ann go up to the stand after she is allowed to testify at last.
I really dislike endings like that, they could have slipped the ending in (we could have done without some of the draggy scenes in the shelter and extra-long Daniel/Mary Ann sobbing exchanges in the park.... or at least they could have had a Summary Screen at the end.
One could assume she got custody though, after Mary Ann's testimony I can't imagine a judge allowing him full custody...or even unsupervised visits.
