I heard that this movie was based off A Grief Observed or at least losely based off of it. Does anyone know if it is. If so should I read the book before I see the movie?

Actually, I would suggest doing the opposite. If you are going to read A Grief Observed, I would do so after you see the film first. The movie isn't really based on A Grief Observed. There is some overlap, but the movie mainly deals with the time of Lewis' life before what he discusses in A Grief Observed, although the two periods are intricately related. The movie should help you understand and empathize more with what you read in the book.
