I have been thinking about getting this great movie on DVD for a while and checked recently for its availability online. I was disappointed to discover that it is not available in U.S. DVD format at any online vendors. It is available on Amazon, but it's around $85.00 new. What gives???

I second the question,why is this movie not available? If it can not be bought through ordinary online distributors,Turner Classic Movies or IFC, the Independent Film Channel, should support this film to make it available or at least show it! This is an absolute classic movie already. It was made in 1993.

I have this movie on DVD, but don't remember where or when I got it because I have so many! It has the paper case!!!

The movie has been out of print for a very, very long time. I own it because I just happened to find a copy at a Half Price Books in the area (which, strangely, I have found two other copies at the same location over the years), but I doubt that it's much of a financial drawing point to re-release it. Maybe as a budget title, but even then that's doubtful.

A shame, because it is indeed a fantastic film that should be seen by more and more people.

I was going to say Amazon but the price tag scared me. They're treating this as a hard-to-find rare collector's item now.

Luckily I managed to borrow a copy from the library.

What this movie could use is a remaster/clean up (and the DVD is letterboxed anyway) and a Blu-Ray combo pack release. I love this movie and it deserves to be on blu-ray. All special features can be ported as well.

I own a region 2 copy but the edition is pretty crappy, there's not even subtitles to it.
You can get an alternative edition that doesn't specify any details or features on play.com for less than 5?.
From the look of the artwork it looks rather recent release, here the link:

I have a copy that I bought several years ago. It is non-anamorphic and the picture looks like a very good VHS copy. Very disappointed in the treatment this film has received. I understand the DVD isn't even available inside the U.S. Sad. I am still waiting for the Blu-Ray...
