if james earl jones was blind...

why did he have his lights on at night during the campout?

reply

To let people know he is home.

reply

haha...that's good enough for me! thanks!

You can be considered "legally blind" where your vision is so blurry no pair of glasses will help you, but you do see light.

reply

i get that, but james earl jones mentions that the 'lights went out' when the baseball hit him. i think...right?

reply

Maybe a figure if speech... because his eyes no longer worked?

reply

lol...i dunno...that's an awfully specific figure of speech if the opposite is true. maybe he had a family member or care-taker in the house.

reply

I guess we will never know. lol!

reply

Not at all.

If you've ever seen a cage fight, the most commonly used expression following a knock out is, LIGHTS OUT!!

Didn't he have a dog? Would the dog not need lights to be able to walk around without bumping into stuff?

reply

maybe in general, but the dog was outside at that time. scotty saw/heard him and said "he's down there"...

but i confess i know nothing about a dog's ability to navigate in the dark. the ones in my neighborhood seem to make it work, lol.

reply

listen ladies and gentlemen, does it really *beep* matter?

reply

I think the even bigger plot hole here is that if he was really blind, how did he hear all the racket the kids were making?

he wasnt deaf... blind = cant see deaf = you cant hear. he could hear. he couldnt SEE. Are you confused?
