Small's balls....!

I don't seem to find any mention of the plot hole concerning the Babe Ruth ball. Clearly he and step-dad had another baseball that they used to play catch. I highly doubt they were playing catch with the Babe Ruth ball. When Denis Leary comes in the kitchen to put a steak on the kids' black eye, he clearly puts his ball and glove on the kitchen counter top. So why didn't Smalls go home and get THAT ball? Just wondering.

I am 55 and I love this movie. This is a movie for adults who remember this bygone era.

Of the millions of people who saw this movie, over two generations and countless platforms, you are the only one to overthink it so much as to bring up this question.

I think it's a great point though. It's better than most of the terrible posts on here

They played catch weeks earlier. If you think about it, it's highly likely that Smalls and his friends had already used and lost the ball he and his step dad played with earlier in the summer.

His step-dad was away and maybe he just wanted to grab a ball real quick and that was where he knew a ball was. I mean it was kinda necessary for part of the movie. And no this movie was not for adults. This is a family movie for people of all ages.
