Ending with Benny stealing home during the Dodgers game..

I think there were other more believable ways to show Benny had something left in the tank. Stealing home is hard to a player in his prime. Benny would have been well over 40 assuming the end takes place in 1993.

Yeah this is technically true, other people pointed inaccuracies cited in the film like the dates the first blacks were able to play in the MLB and stuff like that, but obviously the film is not about things like that. When I was a kid I thought all of the "where are they now" stories were true, I used to think it was amazing that almost all of those kids grew up to be so significant people. Now I know it is unfortunate that 99.9% of us just fade into obscurity.

Not to mention, Benny should have been called out.

It’s staying true to the Benny character and the film altogether. As mostly grounded and simple as The Sandlot is, some of the things in it are clearly exaggerated and have a fantasy aspect to them.

So PF Flyers (awesome kicks) guaranteed to make any kid run faster and jump higher? Well then, I can accept that even at 40 the great Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez could still do unbelievable things just like when he was a kid. At any rate, I love the way the ending plays out. It is such a crowd pleaser.
