peeps, i need your help. I want to put together a list of movies with themes similar to this one (indigence... lost dreams... life on the street... existentialism... isolation... making lemonade from lemons... the disenfranchised... homelessness... urban life... hard life in the city) i will put my list together here in the first thread, so if you reply then i can add your titles to mine later. Thanks for your help. please keep in mind i am seeking real drama titles, not slapstick comedy or ones which really don't fit. thanks in advance

I recommend:
My Own Private Idaho (A homo hustler searches for love in all the wrong places)
With Honors (A college student becomes acquainted with a homeless man)
Leaving Las Vegas (An alcoholic with nothing left to lose travels to Las Vegas to drink himself to death, literally)
Stand By Me (everyone's seen it, so no need for plot details)
Boyz In the Hood (Ditto)

However, of all the films I have seen, the only picture that is on par with The Saint of Fort Washington in regards to being sentimental and extremely depressing (in a good way) is The Wrestler with Micky Rourke.
