was sean astin in consideration for an oscar in 1993

this is his best performance other than Samwise Gamgee in lotr. and know the film Rudy came out in October when awards movies usually come out.

Ha ha ha... Is this a serious question?

If you are asking if Astin was nominated for an Oscar for Rudy, no, he wasn't.

If you are asking if he was ineligible because the film was released in October when most 'Oscar contenders' tend to be released in December, sure - there's no law that says only films released in December can win Oscars.

The Silence of the Lambs was released in FEBRUARY and walked away with a fistful of the things.

Haha, the greatest non-answer of all time.

You say “best performance other than Samwise” in LOTR.

Just as an FYI - he was not even nominated for his role as Samwise, which you call his best.

They probably nominated: small time actor in a smaller but artsy movie, big time actor who played a victim or social outcast (Tom Hanks in Philly story) and a past his prime actor who’d never won so they gave him a mercy nom.

Usually interrogative sentences end with a question mark, OP. You’re welcome.

At no time in his life has the guy who starred in this sneer-worthy movie been in danger of getting an Academy Award nomination.

“I played 1 play of football for Note-er Dame!” Actually pronounced “Norte-RE Dam.” This leads to my next point: the college is a scholarly mediocrity. Boston College, also a Catholic school, mops the proverbial academic floor with ND. Did Rudy believe he was playing football for God?

God has more important things in Mind.
