Don't get me wrong. Any one that can throw over 100mph obviously has skill. But the movie made Henry seem flat out un-hittable. Especially with the arm strength to throw a frozen straight rope from bleachers to home.
So you'd think that the radar gun would read considerably higher than 103mph.

Well he was a reliever, not a starter... so pending who else they had starting watching someone come in and able to consecutively throw STRIKES at 103 MPH back in the 90s when today the fastest recorded pitch (which was a ball and laid off) was 105.1 by Chapman in 2010...
That's pretty amazing I'd say. I'm sure he wasn't unhittable but obviously never saw every game. He probably had a sub 1.00 ERA with a ton of strikeouts.
Also, if you had a pitcher earlier in the game throwing low 90s or even 93/94MPH with stuff, 6-7 innings later going against a pitcher throwing low 100s is going to be extremely difficult.
The frozen rope from the bleachers lol... definitely unrealistic even for a pitcher throwing in the 100s. If he could really do that he'd probably be throwing 150 MPH or something looool.
Most MLB pitchers today throwing in the 100s have poor control. It seemed Henry had perfect control in addition to the 100 MPH pitch. If that's the case all those strikeouts and fairly unhittable does not sound like a stretch.
