Why the hell was fred dekker hired anyway?

I remember in 1994 when I saw a poster for this film...and was hoping that paul verhoeven or at least someone of his calibre would be the director. When I realized it was Fred dekker, I was like.....You have got to be *beep* kidding.

The monster squad director of all people???. I'm guessing the studio wanted this to suck....and they definitely got the right guy. I saw the film anyway, but its safe to say I knew the film would be terrible.

I mean lets see

No peter weller
Nancy allen dying with-in half an hour
Robotic samurai's
A flying robocop
PG-13 kiddie approach
A horribly miscast robert john burke
The monster squad director

What the hell did this film ever get right. Not a damn thing. Sorry, rant over

The Score... Basil Poledouris amazong score was phenomenal. Wasted on this POS nonetheless.
