Was this supposed to be a Robocop film? Was the script written by little Johnny in 6th grade? What was this travesty of a film? Good lord!
Robocop 2 was bad enough. They should have quit there. I didn't know a franchise could sink this low. Alien 4 wasn't even this bad, and that film was a joke!

You watched a PG13 piece of poop, that's what! The movie was well shot and the direction was ok, it was the script and more kiddy friendly tone that let it down. It could still be considered violent in parts, it just had no impact or intensity to it and needed some tighter editing. The kid was also annoying. I started to lose interest in it about half way through and couldn't wait for it too end.
The fact that this was shot in 91' and shelved for 2 years, allegedly due to Orion going bankrupt, I would say that a better reason was that they knew they had a dud on their hands and releasing it wasn't going to help bolster their bank accounts. It didn't help 2yrs later either. That said, I enjoy both ROBOCOP 2 and ALIEN 4.

Yes, ROBOCOP 2 was excellent. I don't get all the flack it gets. That should be reserved for this third rubbish installment only. With Part 2, did fans just want to see the first movie all over again?

I bought the Blu Ray boxset a while back, for Robo 1&2, but never watched 3. I saw it at the cinema and hadn't watched it since (apart from occasional snippets on tv).
The other day, I thought I'd give it another go, just out of curiosity. You know what? It's a bad film, but it's not that bad. Sure, it's an atrocious sequel to the first film (Robocop is in my top 10), but it wasn't bad either. Oddly enough, when I was watching it, I kept thinking "If this part was re-edited this way, it wouldn't be too bad..."
You could really cut and trim the movie and make something... well, not good. Not even Robocop 2 good, but not terrible either. ;-)
