Its all true (japanese xenophobia)

I tried to deny it the whole time i was there but i'm just denying the truth. The japanese in this movie were like the spitting image of the japanese staff and employers i worked with while delivering merchant shipping for hyundai. I'm very saddened as i thought such a highly developed and economically successful nation which has declared its intentions to shun wars and imperialism is still the same xenophobic and backword minded nation its been since the feudal era.

I guess some things will never change:(

Yes Crichton is right about the Japanes xenophobia part. The part where he is missing the mark is that he's overestimating the Japanese' power and intelligence. He also seems to be promoting American protectionist foreign policy. Which is kind of weird and inappropriate in a sophisticated high tech thriller.

I highly doubt the japanese corporations would let a gaijin work for them that doesn't know how to use uppercase letters when writing english language.

If you can't even write english (easy and simple, short words, Roman alphabet) language correctly, what hope is there for you to ever write japanese language (difficult and complex, long words, kanji+katakana+hiragana writing system) correctly?
