SPOILERS: anybody notice this about Jafar?

I saw this movie when I was a kid so I really didn't pay attention/care about this, but did you notice that Jafar has a six pack? And he's red? Both signs of power...

Also, when Iago pushed the lamp off the ledge, if Jafar was a genie with power, couldn't he have stopped the lamp from falling into the lava by levitating it out of the area?

he had like 2 seconds to do something when he realized iago pushed the lamp off the edge, it wasn't nearly enough time to do anything about it, also how do you know he can control the lamp if he's not in it? looks to me like the other way round
