Overall tone of the film was much darker than the first Aladdin, anyone agree?

Who the hell is Marcoli and why does he play the mamba?

I agree. And at the very least Jafar was a bit darker than in the first.

Ditto for me. I haven't seen it since it came out, but I don't want to see it again for that reason.

Actually, you're right, although this doesn't hold up as well as 1 and 3, it certainly made Jafar look a lot more menacing.

Come to think of it, I always thought Jafar was kind of weak and lame in the first movie, I'm glad that they made him more evil in this one.

of course. revengeful jafar should be more menacing than mildly pissed off and egotistical jafar of the first film
