Isn't it ironic how Abis Mal was smart enough not to wish Jafar free?

That guy is so dumb on the rest of the Aladdin episodes and Harould is the one with the good ideas. For example when Harould (one of the episodes) asked who is blue, magical and always ruins his plans, he can't even figure that out. lol

Yet, he was smart enough not to wish for Jafar to be free and did asked a good question ''How do I know these things just won't disappear once I set you free''.

How did such a dumb guy not fall for setting Jafar free??

Greed.

I thnk he might've ended up freeing him had Aladdin not come up and tried to take Jafar's lamp from him. Which resulted in Jafar getting angry and using his powers to try and kill Aladdin. Also that scene bothers me cause at the beginning of the movie Abysmall wished for the legendary sunken treasure ship of Cordemare and Jafar took him to the bottom of the ocean where it was then asked if he wished to go back to the desert. Then in this scene Jafar says, "But you needn't waste your third wish. Yo want the sunken treasure ship of Cordemare. It's yours. Then Abysmall wishes for more and more treasure and Jafar fills the whole room with treasure making it seem like he had more than 3 wishes.

I don't think a Genie should be able to manipulate wishes in his favor.

He never said "I wish." Jafar gave him that stuff on his own.

Even more apparent Jafar doesn't have to follow the rules of Genie.

Except there is no rule that says a genie can't give freely.

Just like the first movie, genie got aladdin out on his own. Even though he got tricked

reply

Agreed. Abysmal was smart enough not to set him free without granting him a wish.

It occurs to me that there was a simpler solution that Aladdin and the rest could've done which would've been far better. Grab Jafar's lamp and say, "I wish for you to be human." Then Jafar would've turned into a human and been unable to ever get any of his powers he wished for back.

reply

Jafar was really powerful and dangerous even as a human though.

reply

Yeah. But I'm pretty sure Genie even in his more depowered state could take him. Also he wasn't that powerful when he was human. He had to wish to be an all powerful sorcerer to rule over everyone in the first movie and if he's human he doesn't have the power of a sorcerer. He could be hurt by the guards as a human and would be just arrested and put to death like how Aladdin was going to go before Genie rescued him.

reply

You would think, but normal humans still managed to be a threat in the tv show which this movie always felt like a pilot for.

reply

Yeah. I haven't seen an episode of that show in years.

reply

I think it never entered his tiny mind to start with. Plus it would have ruined the whole movie, because if Iago hadn't kicked that lamp into the lava, Jafar would have never been destroyed. It's hard to kill a freed genie.
