Even though I must admit I did enjoy watching this movie, there is something that bothered me : Why is Smith making Karen rob the bank, if he's already rich? She steals over 3 million dollars from his safe at home. He obviously didn't need the money, and to top it all, with all the people involved, his share would have been far less than the 18 millions he was talking about.

Yeah, he was already rich, but he was greedy. He always wanted more. I doubt the money he already made was through legal means so why not rob a bank? He obviously has no morals...kidnapping a kid, bribing a parole officer. Seemed robbing a bank was right up his alley.

he wasn't a nice person and there is ways to get a bigger share. I doubt everybody would have gotten their share. I think he would have kept 10 million to himself.
