blu-ray is coming next month

No mention of special features, but they're probably the same as the DVD. Hopefully there will be a commentary like the others. On Facebook, director Jeff Burr is open to contributing, but it looks like it may be too late for 4. Hopefully he can be involved with 5 whenever it comes to blu-ray.

finally!
i don't understand however how this can be a widescreen release, unless it was shot this way, and then later cropped for video release. Like...did they originally intend to put 4 and 5 into cinemas and then didn't get a theatrical release?
If they go the crap way - cutting of the top and bottom of the picture to get widescreen - then I'm not buying it, but I'm almost sure they won't do that, would be very stupid.

According to Jeff Burr, both films were in fact originally intended to be one film with a planned theatrical release. But I think this was still the pre-production stages.

It's Full Moon, so I wouldn't overlook the possibility.

Funny how they thought they could get part 4 into cinemas when 1-3 didn't even get a theatrical run?! For some reason I always thought that at least the 1st one got into cinemas.

I recognize your username from some years ago, you seem to know your stuff when it comes to all things Puppetmaster...
too bad the unrated version of PM1 is not out on Blu-Ray anywhere in the world, I just wached the german unrated DVD again.
Also bought the UK Blu-Ray of Part 2 and 3, it'll be interesting to see how they look, and the cropping, compared to the old US DVDs. The Blus should be exact copies of the US Blus.

sorry for rambling on ;)

They were going to call it PUPPET MASTER: THE MOVIE. Wrap your head around that. :/

It was originally going to, but someone, possibly Charles Band decided it might make more money on video. He had made a lot through the home video market.
