Uneven and forgetable...

My Girlfriend loves this movie and forced me to sit through, she figures I love old school animation so I might like this.
Its a generic story, with uneven animation. Some parts were better detailed than others.
The story itself is insipid tripe for kids. The character designs are crude.
like its trying to be the Last Unicorn or something.
The storyline it self is uneven also. The grandmother was never even fully explained....
all in all I give it 5 out of 10 stars..

For someone who's older and just watching it for the first time, I imagine it would probably seem like that.
But I grew up with this, I've watched it since before I can remember. If I just watched it for the first time now, I'd probably go "wow, what the crap is this?". But it's so nostalgic for me.

What's Purgatory? Purgatory's kind of like the in-betweeny one.

I only saw Last Unicorn for the first time a couple years back, and I see that as a masterpiece.
Princess and the Goblin has NOTHING going for it. Even the bad guys were lame.
The daffy duck soundalike prince was the worst of all.

ok...I'll give it props for the song. The song is ok.

shut the *beep* up knightofleo its a great movie. and even though this movie is from a unknown movie studio its still a masterpiece. the story, the song, and the characters and especially froglip are unforgetable so shut up.

I can understand why you think that OP, but I am going to say I like this movie a lot. Of course the book is better, but this is still charming or I think it is anyway, with lovely music and excellent voice acting especially from Rik Mayall and Joss Ackland. I do think the movie is too short though, and the grandmother I agree could've been developed more, though I loved Claire Bloom's voice over and that she was beautiful and wise. But I really do like the characters, Froglip is my favourite, he is quite sexy for a goblin and I like Irene she is cute and adventurous. And I actually liked the animation, there are some nice backgrounds, and the story is easy to follow.

Goblins are sexy? XD, I did like Froglips and the girl, it's a good movie..I sort of grew up with it

I'm surprised this movie is liked so well. My sister used to watch it quite often and I hated that film, still think it's quite bad. But to each their own of course.

I personally hate it as well, it's 6.5 rating is undeserved.
