6.9! How? Who's voting for this?

This is among my bottom five for animated films. It was at a 6.1 for a long time, still a little high, but acceptable. Now it's been upvoted and placed higher than many better films. I ask this in all seriousness, what about this movie is remotely good? Let me go on and say that I don't consider childhood nostalgia a good reason. I myself have grown to dislike a lot of films I liked as a kid. So please tell me why you think this movie deserves a good rating. And be polite, name calling is not beneficial to any discussion.

This is why I love film so much; two people can have total opposite opinions. Childhood nostalgia might not be a valid reason for you, but it is a reason and taking it out of the equation would be unrealistic. Other than the nostalgia of an easier time; I think my enjoyment of the film comes from the characters and ending. Froglip and his parents are amazingly fun characters. And the flood running through the castle is intense for a children's movie. The ending doesn't play around, killing most if not all the antagonists. (I can't remember how many of the goblins die). I think there is a lot to enjoy from this movie, but I completely respect your opinion and would like to know what other animated movies you dislike?

Wow, a response! Not only that, but a polite and thoughtful one too. Thanks! Anyways, on to my response.

I admit that I'm unique in this aspect. I've found myself to be quite nostalgia proof.

I'm glad you enjoyed the characters in this. I didn't, not a single one. The heroes were beyond bland and forgettable while the goblins where grating and annoying.

It was? I don't know, even as a kid I didn't find anything intense about the ending. And even if the goblins are killed in the end, which would be implied and not confirmed, I don't give brownie points for such things. Heck, most Disney villains end up dead in the end so this was hardly revolutionary or anything.

This is an odd question, usually people ask for movies they favor. But this is also a fun question so I'll answer it below.

The Fox and the Hound- Frustrating, dull, distracted, bland music, uninteresting characters, and all around poorly executed. I do really like the ending, it's a shame you have to watch the whole movie to get to it.

Rock a Doodle- So annoying, so grating, so painful...Don Bluth's worst easily.

Atlantis:The Lost Empire- Of all those cliche sci-fi animated films that came out at that time, this one was the worst. Boring, uninspired, and bad writing all through out.

Chicken Little- The absence of good in movie form. The worst movie in the Disney canon, with characters that are either dull as bricks or unnecessarily mean spirited. The movie itself comes off as mean and not in any practical way. The "comedic" writing is probably the worst I've seen in such a film.

Corpse Bride- Ugh, 2005 was a bad year. Chicken Little, Madagascar, and then you have this film. The name is appropriate as this film is a corpse. It's amazing how a movie has such an original idea and yet ends up being surprisingly dull and cliche. Add in some of the dullest characters, forgettable songs, Burton feeling like he's phoning it in, and you have the perfect recipe for sleep medicine.

Those are some I came up with. There's probably more, but this is getting long.
