I came accross a magazine up west called Wild West, special edition 100 greatest westerns and at number 89 is POSSE, they give it a pretty good review as well but having said that do remember that Jesse Lee does make a cameo in Guns'n'Roses which was voted one of the worst western of all times in imdb.com list.

As much as I like Glen Ford as an actor I don't think or remember any good or great western that he done? but he made some great film noir films.
