Longest title ever?

Is this the longest title for a film ever? I can't think of a longer one. Can you?

reply

This title has eleven words. Narnia has tied the amount of words in a movie. Count them:

"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe".

However, as far as I know, the longest movie title is this one:

"Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, but Were Afraid to Ask"

It is a movie by Woody Allen.

I can't beat WeirdoKid's title but there are a few other longer ones, like

Dr. Strangelove: Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

and

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

I've got all ya'll beat. There's this "little" British film from 1967. The "short" title is Marat/Sade, however, the complete title is:

The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum at Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade.

(By the way, it's a great film).

reply

You've got us all beat? That certainly does not beat "Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Zombified Living Dead Part 2: In Shocking 2-D."

The last entry has got it all beat, but my favorite long title is:

Went to Coney Island on a Mission from God: Be Back by Five

reply

"The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford"
The Brad Pitt movie that got very limited release last
year and now on dvd. It's got 10 words in the title and
most likely the latest film with the longest title!

"Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Crawling, Zombified Living Dead Part 2: In Shocking 2-D" - I believe this is the longest official English-language title for a film in existence...

I'm not saying I don't trust you, and I'm not saying that I do, but I don't.

"I Could Never Have Sex With Any Man Who Has So Little Regard For My Husband."

Maybe not the longest, but surely one of the funniest!

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned these 2:

Two more:

Swept Away . . . by an Unusual Destiny in the Blue Sea of August(the Wertmuller masterpiece, of course. Not to be confused with the inferior Madonna remake.)

Dr. Stranglove, or, How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
