Lesley Ann Warren was a way better Wanda.

And Willing To Kill was a much better one. This one was just plain silliness.

You're CRAZY. If this were a feature film, she would have won an Academy Award. Hunter was sheer, black comedy perfection. The whole film is funny because it's a true story, the actual people involved were crazy Texans, and the truth is always stranger than fiction.

And Holly Hunter was pure 24K gold in this role.

I totally agree with the OP. "Willing to Kill" with Lesley Ann Warren was 100% better that this silly version.

Probably sort of the point that the Holly Hunter movie was silly. Lesley Ann Warren was probably good (idk), but movies like Warren's were seemingly on TV every week. And they were usually dead serious, and someone usually died in those docudramas. Obviously, the difference in this Texas cheerleader case was that Wanda Holloway was arrested before anyone was harmed.

IMO, since no one died, and the whole plot began for a silly reason, the better movie was the one with a sense of humor about it.

It don't matter who you hear it from. It's the same story.

I haven't seen Lesley Ann Warren's interpretation or her film but Holly Hunter was flat out brilliant! I saw the film (very good, itself) for the first time today and was blown away by her performance.
