The director's threatened lawsuit

I found a link to this buried somewhere here in one of the threads and it certainly needs more attention - particularly if you, too, have found Pocket Ninjas to be one of the most steaming piles of cinema you've ever seen.

Over on the website Something Awful the movie was accurately and hilariously reviewed (get yourself a drink, get comfy, and read this first):

The director(s) of Pocket Ninjas apparently couldn't handle this overdue criticism, written in 2004, and sent Something Awful some sort of lame "cease & desist" letter threatening a lawsuit. Something Awful took the letter as an opportunity to tear a new a$$hole out of the director(s) of Pocket Ninjas in another brilliant article:

We here at Something Awful pride our journalistic integrity and often have a hard time sleeping at night if we even suspect there's a factual error in a review of movie as powerful as 'Pocket Ninjas.'

LMAO. The comeback article ends on a rather graphically insulting note, so I'm taking a guess that the Pocket Ninja guys just accepted their defeat and quietly bailed after seeing this intensely intimidating comeback letter, complete with a coupon for a Wendy's hamburger (?!):

Thanks, Something Awful, for writing something about such an awful movie. What the directors/producers can't comprehend is that there's a market for these "so bad they're good" movies and I'm delighted to be able to say I have now seen this piece of crap. It sucks and I love it for that - but most of all it's a lesson to those of us interested in making our own movies and knowing what NOT to do unless you purposefully want to make a movie that everyone will hate.

I'm personally dismayed that the directors would even consider taking legal action because - GASP! - someone wrote a bad review about their terrible movie. It sucked and they know it! Take the criticism and learn from it, you d!cks. Let me just say that there are people out there who intentionally seek out and collect the "worst movies ever made". I'm one of them.

Pocket Ninjas: 1/10. Why Troll 2 has a cult following and this doesn't, I'm not sure. Maybe it's yet to come.

I almost cried from reading that review.

Seriously, best review ever.
