Can't you guys see...

....the she was a 'victim' because she was 'forced' to engage in multitudinous sex sessions with a neighbor. That makes her bratty self pure because she was 'forced' into it. Right?

The story in Piano is basically just a case of "the confident alpha male gets the girl".

I disagree. I'd say the confident, compassionate alpha male win's the girl's heart. Baines was good at relating with others, as shown by his close relationship with the natives. He was not judgmental. He just existed and let others simply exist around him.

Alasdair was NOT a kind nor compassionate man. He was only after what was good for HIM, which was how he lost Ada from the very moment he left her piano on the beach. He insulted the natives and didn't understand them at all. Just different kinds of people.

I thought Harvey Keitel's character in this movie was extremely sexy.

Ok ok so when you get married or maybe you already are to a guy who you love and later another confident, compassionate alpha male comes along and he's better than your husband, I wonder what will happen.

Just saying

That's right, Baines is compassionate. Right from the moment they first meet, when Alasdair says 'She's small, what do you think?'. and Baines replies, 'I think she looks tired.' He really sees Ada as a person.

I'd simply call it Stockholm Syndrome
