what an ugly-ass pair
ada and george...she looks like a man in skirt and his painted nose is plain weird.

They both have beautiful souls and the bodies to match. She is very beautiful in her own way, and I just love his warm way to look at her lovingly. My favorite scene is when he sits in this chair and tells her he is suffering. THat little shy smile... priceless!
If movie characters were always "pretty" I'd bre pretty bored.
Amen to that. Too many young people these days think that all main characters have to be beautiful. Harvey Keitel's character had a beautiful soul.
shareThe tenderness dwelling beneath Baines' gnarled features - and his initially crude proposition - is one of the many ways in which Keitel - and the film - surprises us. It was a masterstroke for Campion to cast Keitel against type, and he nailed it. He should have received a Best Actor Oscar nomination.
shareThat is one of my all-time favorite love scenes. Real love and passion in their lovemaking. They are both beautiful in that scene.
Get me a bromide! And put some gin in it!

First time I've ever heard Holly Hunter described that way. To each his own but I would suggest you consider the look they had was intentional and would not have made sense if they looked like supermodels. Keitel's character is ugly to the bone. And Ada seems to have gone out of her way to make herself not noticeable.

shareWith your intelligence, wouldn't you be better off sticking to 'curious George' cartoons?
