Big Disappointment

I loved the first one, this movie is so bad, its really painful to watch remembering how good the first Philadelphia Experiment was.

I find it interesting that they used a stealth fighter, undisguised, and with ==no== accreditation at the end of the film. Even in the Bruce Willis film: Armageddon (1998) they used a lot of disguising metal camoflage (shiny exterior 'stuff') to cover the SR-71, a 'bird' they delivered to service in 1966 and retired in 1990. It was brought back <allegedly> in 1995 and kept in service 'til 1998. There were some kept in use at Edwards Air Force Base until 2001 <allegedly.> vv--source--vv

My point is that for a classified war bird (F-117) to make it into the film without any disguising, somebody must have wanted this picture to be made. Somebody powerful.

I had heard from R. W. Reagan that the Philadelphia Project was real...

Keep smiling. ===8^)

In response to R_C_Olson :

The F-117A was flown during sorties in the 1st gulf war conflict. This was highly advertised on news articles both on tv and in print at the time, this means that at this time the aircraft was no longer classified and would most certainly not be by the time that this film was made in 1993.

the idea that someone 'powerful' was trying to make a point by including this plane in a film is foolish, the media attention that the gulf war had given this aircraft meant that it would be a popular choice for films.

F-117s also saw combat in Panama, in 1989.

Heck, I saw one fly over a city parade in 1990. By then they were on display on military bases for Armed Forces Day (Memorial Day).

What's really ODD is that they use a stealth FIGHTER to portray a stealth BOMBER, which is a completely different aircraft!!!

The F-117s first flight was in 1981, and it achieved initial operating capability status in October 1983. The F-117 was publicly acknowledged and revealed to the world in November 1988. Five years before the movie came out.

That and in the beginning of the movie, Mailer is showing how to soviet's built a device to detect them while cloaked.
