For Liberals and Hippies

Of course they are. Haven't you heard that if you are right-wing when you are young, you have no heart, and that if you are left-wing when you are older, you have no head? Anyway, I don't know of a single sixties left-wing hippie that doesn't live like a right-winger now. They may preach liberal dogma, but they sure don't practice it. Inside, they are all staunch capitalists. If this had not been the case, we would have had a REAL revolution ages ago.

Yes, Hollywood in general, and this movie in particular, is liberal. So liberal, in fact, that this movie follows the book almost exactly except for one thing: The romance between Darby and Gray is allowed in the book because they're both white, and denied in the movie because they are interracial.
