It becomes boring without the Roberts Washington romance

I enjoyed the film but it would have been a much more interesting film if they had included the interracial romance between Roberts and Washington. That is, if they didn't make it a taboo thing but a realtionship thing. As the film is now, you lose interest within the first hour. It becomes a mind movie instead of a heart movie, which all the great movies are.

This movie wasn't billed as a romance, and though the two characters do get together at the end of the book, it felt as though that part of the plot was just added in as a crowd pleaser. It's a legal thriller, thats all it attempts to be and it fulfils this role. A gratuitous romance would have detracted from the tension and ruined the film.

No.. they should be together in the last scene imo ;(
I think it'd make it more interesting

if it was about some advanced underwear, instead of a file, i think it would have been more thrilling.

His name...was Julio Iglesias!

I'm gonna have to disagree on that, because romance would have detracted from the quality of this movie as a legal thriller.

I found it was refreshing that two hot key characters didn't have to "get it on".

I also like that there was indeed a romance - but it was a slow burn which I think was more powerful than the standard formula (and also more believable).

Funny how they tend to do this when it's an interracial romance involving a white person. The Pelican Brief, Pacific Rim, The Edge of Seventeen, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rogue One, etc.

No thanks.
