Do I "suffer" from insanity?
No. Not at all.
I bought the DVD having fond memories of the movie….but then I watched it and wasn't as thrilled by it as I remembered being.
I found the characters rather irritating, all these years later. I guess when I was younger I found them interesting. Not so much now.
Sam is in a relationship with a nut job actress who has no redeeming qualities. Why was a straightforward guy who's looking for love and normalcy (supposedly) attracted to her in the first place? When she treats him like crap you can't feel sorry for him.
Ellen is in a relationship with a guy who hardly gives her the time of day. In light of what she's looking for in a relationship why would she end up with a guy who is so different from her in the first place. He treats her indifferently but when she cheats on him he's all upset.
In the meantime we're wondering why either of them would stay with these people under those circumstances.
Then you have the girlfriend of the frat boy who treats her like crap, and acts like a juvenile weenie.
I know it's a movie, but still kind of hard to feel empathy for any of them. They're kind of, well, irritating.
