the book was a million times better

One of the best Stephen king books ever written and my personal favorite book of his.

Yeah... there's only about 3-4 other threads saying the same thing. We get it... the book was better. Enough already.

The important part is that this poster actually measured. The book is a "million" times better (unless someone lost count along the way). 😊

I loved it too. But the books usually are better than the movie. That's just to be expected imho.

I think this particular book/movie adaptation stands out, because the film missed the mark by soooooo much

I honestly don't know whether this novel is even film-able. It relies so much on the characters' internal emotions, nostalgia most of all. It was never about the "things" themselves, but the "things" are easiest to film.

So I can relate. I actually almost passed up this story, and I was a big King fan at the time, because I couldn't see how people could "need things" that badly.

Decades later, not only does it remain one of my favorite stories, but I'm finding myself seeking out my own "needful things," stories, toys and bric-a-brac from my own youth, for the feelings they dredge up in me
