One of the best horrorfilms ever made?

I SERIOUSLY think so!

It's totally different then all the usual horror crap out there (most horror films exisiting and I mean like 99% of all are godawful filth). I liked the effects, the stories are very interesting, the atmosphere was always creepy and intense, especially in the last story, the actors pretty darn good, location and setting always superb, I love it since years now!

Now something else, could other film experts (if you do not know what you're talking about or not sure if you can help me better DO NOT write here anything! thank you, I've seen enough "recommended" crap) please recommend me horror titles I could like.
I've listed here my favorite films of the horror genre:

Jacob's Ladder
Angel Heart
Hellraiser 1-IV
Candyman 1-2
Lord of Illusions
Texas Chainsaw Massacre '74
Subconscious Cruelty
Nosferatu
Inland Empire
Eraserhead
Shutter
Begotten
Alien 1-4
Predator 1-2
Session 9
Seven
Shining
The Thing
Funny Games
Exorcist III
Dawn of the Dead '78
28 Days Later
Necronomicon
Haute Tension

I agree with all the films you have all posted, yet I am amazed that

WISHMASTER (coolest movie bad guy since Pinhead)
PHANTASM
Masters of Horror THE DREAMS IN THE WITCH HOUSE
DAGON

weren't mentioned.

How about Hideaway, another similar to a Clive Barker-type thing, about your soul going to hell...and if you like 28 Days Later, how about [Rec.], Quarantine or 30 Days of Night?
You also mentioned High Tension, a great French horror, I have 2 more for you that will blow your mind: 'Frontiers' & 'Martyrs'! Also seek out 'The Cottage' (British).

You listed Dawn of the Dead, how about Day of the Dead (1985 version)?
Or
Let Sleeping Corpses Lie
Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things
The Omen 1 & 2
Exorcist IV: The Beginning?
It's Alive/It Lives Again
It Waits
Prophecy (1979)
The Fury (1978)
Creepshow
Beyond the Door
Schock
After Midnight
Nightmare on Elm St./Wes Craven's New Nightmare?

I agree, definitely underrated. It deserves to be more known and appreciated. Great horror anthology.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)

reply

It's good gory fun. All three segments were good.

Definitely underappreciated.
