More Great Leigh films
just saw this was stunned. im familiar with Leighs other work, but i havent seen many, except secrets and lies... what should i see next?

what about his more recent films? any of them stand up to naked or secrets and lies? i watched his short film 'shorts and curlies' on the naked dvd.. its was quite good but not really my taste..
You really should see Career Girls if you liked Secrets and Lies. Beautiful and sad. Amazing. Vera Drake is not at all like Career Girls but is really good nonetheless. I'm fairly new to Mike Leigh myself, but I can't wait to see all of his films. I really think you will like Career girls though. Come back to this board if you get to see it and tell me what you think.

i just watched topsy turvy it was incredible and hilarious. so see that one too!!.. im on a binge.. this stuff is so above typical american filmmaking i have to adjust for a few minutes when i put one of his films on , its almost shocking how different the approach is from typical hollywood.. but theyre all so entertaining as well..
