RIP Katrin Cartlidge

I only just found out that she died. Her character, Sophie, stole the show in this film. Such a difficult character to play (especially with her strange way of talking).

Such a loss to the acting world.

I first saw Katrin in 'Career Girls' just after she died and she seemed such a loss, a feeling only strengthened when I saw her in 'Naked' and 'Breaking the Waves'. Irreplacable.

I haven't seen her in much else, but I LOVED her character in "Naked". And when I heard the comments she did on the film for the Criterion Collection, it blew me away how intelligent and insightful she was. So different from her character Sophie! She had really made an effort to put together her character and making it work with Thewlis, Sharpe and Cruttwell. She was great. Hats off for her, truly.

I don't think she would have agreed with you that she stole the show. You must take into account the award-winning performance of David Thewlis and the inestimable talents of Lesley Sharp. All three create vibrant characters whose lives appear to extend well beyond the confines of the film.

R.I.P. Katrin

Sad she went so young, like Charlotte Coleman. A huge loss for British cinema.

You should see "Claire Dolan", also starring Vincent D'Onofrio (one of my favorites) and Colm Meaney.

I thought although David Thewlis was really good in the film, indeed Katrin Cartlidge did steal the film, every time i saw here i thought she was brilliant, i have lent the dvd to my brother, and its not a film everyone will enjoy, but what a great film. By the way Katrin Cartlidge started her career in Brookside?.
