finally watched it all some comments. SPOILERS

I am a Mike Leigh fan and saw a bit of this on tv years ago but bought the dvd and watched it all tonight.


The dvd only cost me £3 but it still annoys me that I can't get the audio comments to work.

But about the film,it is a depressing view of early 1990s Britain,I worked as a security guard at the time and so identify with the security guard.

Nearly everybody in this is in a bad way,some are just unhappy but a couple of the characters seem to have mental health issues.

Johnny is a deeply troubled person,Sophie has some sort of mental health issues,god knows what is up with the cafe girl.

I like the film a lot,it reminds of the period,mostly bleak and it was hard to get a job,and no minimum wage then either.

I used to know people like Johnny and Sophie,lost souls into drink and drugs.
I know the film is not real but why would a nurse share a flat with the other 2 girls,ok one has an office job but Sophie while being beautiful (love her clothes)is obviously a bit crazy.
