Bakula and Buscemi instead of Patinkin and Spader?

I have to admit that I didn't know Mandy Patinkin and James Spader before I watched the movie. But it was already while I watched it that I thought, Scott Bakula and Steve Buscemi could have played Nashe and Pozzi quite as good as the other two did. Not only that they look like each other, it also has something to do with the roles Bakula and Buscemi played in other films I watched, which made me think the two guys just fit into the story and the roles.
I'm curious. What do you think?

knowing the two others i think you have a point there...and maybe they could've been a better choice.

I thought James Spader performance was spellbinding. It would have been hard to top it.

spader ruled this role. patinkin too. how about burt reynolds and pee-wee? the actors were great. the chemistry with durning, grey, and the principals was on the money.unique film.let it be.

Steve Buscemi would have been great - but it would have been too easy, too much type-casting. Spader may not have been the obvious choice, but he was excellent. No complaints.

Like others here, Spader and Patinkin were great in their roles and I loved seeing Spader play a character different to his usual choices.

Huh? I see no resemblance between Bakula and Patinkin but I'll let that slide because I am more concerned about the other comparison! Buscemi and Spader?!?! IN what universe?

I do not have attention deficit disor...Ooh, look at the bunny!

I could see any number of actors in the roles, but I think that the casting here was spot-on for every character in it.
