Director's other films?

I noticed on his filmography that he has not made many films. Has anyone seen any of his others and are they as amazing as this one?

I'm curious too. One of the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes says "he can only go on to even greater work" or something like that; however, this one has gotten more recognition, certainly, than the others.

(Your post is years old, but I'll reply anyway)

His next best known film is Xích lô (1995). It's actually very different from this one, in style and content, but it's a fantastic film. I rate it even higher.

Mùa hè chieu thang dung (2000) is meant to be good as well.

That is a masterpiece of understatement.

I also advise Norwegian Wood, based on the beautiful novel by Haruki Murakami, but I definitely wouldn't advise you to see I Come With the Rain, the only bad film he's done, in an otherwise brilliant career.

"The Sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel".
