Why was this film such a Box Office Hit?
There aren't really that many funny parts or funny lines in it, save for a few. In fact this film seems more like a Drama than a Comedy. Why was it such a big hit back in 1993?

shareGood reviews, effective advertising, word of mouth, repeat viewings, known director, bankable actors...... you know. The usual.
Why would it being more drama than comedy give it a lower box office take? There are plenty of successful dramas.
Well a lot of people still liked the movie
shareYou must not be a Robin Williams fan...this film is hilarious ..!!..with many, many laughs!
shareI watched this recently and have to agree that I didn't find it appealing. I remember that it got a huge publicity buildup when it was released. My problem with the film is that it is just Robin Williams dressed up as an old lady doing improve comedy the whole some. The other characters are wooden and uninteresting, very poorly written.
shareOh my god "no funny lines" r you f@#'"g kidding me this movie is HILERIOUS and one of Robinsost funny roles
R u ok you must be really stiff if you didnt find this funny
I laughed from beginning ti end.
