So, did she keep dating Stu?

It was never shown and there hasn't been anything wrong with him, so I must assume that they stayed together?

reply

I guess but your guess is as good as mime if not better then mine

In the last 15 minutes of the movie, Miranda's rekindled fondness of Daniel coincided with the absence of Stu. I think the family got back together and Stu went on his way.

reply

That could be too but since there is no expiation of what happened to Stu after Miranda's dinner party with Stu, the children, Mrs. Doubtfire, your guess as well as the op's guess is as good or if not better them my guess.

reply

If they did, it probably didn't last very long.

reply

I like to think Stu and Miranda stayed together. They were a nice fit I suppose, even if she was a psycho hose beast.

After that dinner......? If I was Stu, (a rich, good looking guy, who could most certainly get someone half his age...) I'd run like Hell from Miranda! She has WAY too much baggage! She has 3 kids, an ex, she's a bitch....Besides, that whole dinner with Daniel/Mrs. Doubtfire would've freaked me out!

reply

Yeah that is very true! She was nuts, but then again...well, I won't go there ;)

reply

I agree. I think that whole dinner freaked Stu out and that was it between him and Miranda. However, from another poster earlier, I doubt she got back with Daniel. They have more respect for each other now and can co-exist for the benefit of their kids, maybe even be friends, but their marriage is over.

reply

I’m with you guys. Miranda and Daniel wouldn’t remarry but, they would have a more amicable relationship.....at least for the sake of the children. Stu’s history.....hence why he’s not there at the end.

reply

I'm sure she did, at least for a while. The ending scene where Daniel (as Mrs. Doubtfire) is answering the letter on the air about divorce was the movie's way of mading it clear that he and Miranda were done.

No reason Miranda and Stu wouldn't stay together, even if his name was more of a thick soup than a name..

I think so.. he fit her a ton more than Daniel did. She's a no-nonsense straight up lady, and so was he. You could see how much he cared for her once they first met again, he took the time to talk to her about things off the bat and was cool to her and the kids. He was a bit overly awful about Daniel and a bit arrogant overall but I think in time he woulda gotten over it and got along well with him.. hell he saved his life pretty much so he owed him that.

I always heard in the lost sequel they married and were gonna have another kid.. makes sense.

Daniel deserved someone more artistic, open minded, and with a clear soul. She had the latter (hidden but she had one,) she just didn't have enough of a POV to support Daniel and was a completely different wired person for him. She fit Stu a lot better.

I think the whole dinner would have freaked him out too much. Between almost dying at the table, and Daniel admitting to it. Then finding out that the house keeper whose been constantly busting your balls was actually her ex-husband. That would be more than most men would be able to handle. Especially a long time playboy like Stu who had only recently decided to settle down and embrace a woman with kids.

He seemed like a good guy and probably tried to keep it going, but ultimately he would recognize that he couldn't get over what happened. Within a month he would have already been on top of at least one 20 year old model.

Mrs. Doubtfire's speech at the end I think made it clear Daniel and Miranda didn't get back together, but each recognized that the other loved the kids and would only do what was best for them and it was better for them to have both their parents in their lives.

reply

I assume that they continued dating but that isn't mentioned at all. In my opinion while they did, Miranda and her family (proably even Stu) might never have returned to Bridges (Restaurant) again because it would have brought up bad memories but be that as it may, I think later on Daniel must have apologized to Stu (for insulting him as Mrs Doubtfire) and approved of him as a potential new father for the kids while he could still see them, much like it is the case with some families depending on circumstances; kids have the pleasure of both their father and stepfather at times as long as both sides approve of each other

Stu definitely moved on. Probably never called again after dropping them off. Miranda probably tried to call to apologize but she got the message after he didn't reply. In the end I think Miranda ended up alone while Daniel now cash rich ended up with a younger free spirited woman like Jenna Elfman. Daniel most likely earned his millions from Mrs. Doubtfire merchandise (think the Barney craze of the 90s). Probably set up his children for life. A bittersweet ending for both.
