Her mother! What was she THINKING?!

I can certainly understand the smoking rage she must have felt that her daughter's attacker went free, but to SHOOT HIM IN OPEN COURT?!!!

Your daughter NEEDS you! And to shoot him in front of everyone? An intense film, but that mom was dumb as a big bag of rocks.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

What was HIS mother thinking providing an alibi for him when he had molested for more than a third time?????

As for the mother, I can certainly understand her rage. Being at the hospital, seeing her young daughter beaten and raped and the criminal gets off over a technicality...and he's laughing it up in court? Yeah, call her dumb all you want but many people can identify with what she did, even though it was court.

**If you're talking about me behind my back, you're in a good position to kiss my a$$!**

Agreed.

I don't think it's right more than anyone else, but I do believe it's easily understood why she went nuts in court with the gun.

Not a bad TV movie all in all.

no metal detectors before entering court?

Especially since HIS mother covered up the fact and gave him alibis for other young girls (children) he's done this to before. Its disgusting; the victim's mother wasn't thinking straight - I mean seeing her child beaten and raped like that would make any mother go off the deep end like that. What kind of *beep* justice system do we have? This freak has done this before THATS what I don't understand - yet they let him walk and he has this smirk on his face like haha I got away with it AGAIN. He's a sick bastard, if he was convicted the prisoners would've taken care of him, they do NOT like child molesters and he would've been somebody's bitch for the rest of his life. I know in some states (I think) they carry the death penalty for rape - rightly so. I mean especially when its done to a innocent child; His mother knew he was disturbed she should've put him away to get help before he was able to rape/beat those other young little girls. It makes me so sick. Lesley W. did a great job as did Missy Crider did a fantastic job, and as always Bruce D. as well.

This movie is from 1993. Courts were a lot more lax in some cities/towns then. It is possible that there were no metal detectors. Not probable, but possible. Plus, there have been instances in real life where people have made it through the court building's doors and into the court room with a gun.

i disagree, but LOL @ ur post lol but honestly, there is no way as a jury i would of said, few yrs in prison,or the judge. I take it you did not see what he did to her.she was wrong yes to KILL the monster. But she snapped, and hence, deserve a break here.Did you see her daughter? SMH.

I get it.
I do not "condone her shooting/killing the bas-ard but i get it.

Took her gun, that she"forgot 2 put back in the drawer at home"and popped the RAPIST prick azzhole,no good Child-Beater,batterer,shout em,without a second thought.i would have given her probationary period, with therapist. NO PRISON TIME, none at all.ALL GREAT PARENTS can relate here, and i love the "expression" on FRANK WARDEN abhorrent face after laughing, yep.

The rule of law requires a justice system based on rules, balance, presumption of innocence, fairness and a set standard of proof. If there was insufficient proof of guilt, that was simply the system working. She should have a accepted that. To shoot an innocent person in open court makes her far worse than what he was accused of being.

reply

Are you kidding, he was far from innocent what she did was shoot a predator, an evil sick piece of crap not an innocent man. If that was my child I could definately be pushed to doing what she did in those circumstances, he was laughing it up in that court room like it was all a joke and meanwhile her daughter was lying in a hospital comatose because of what he did.

reply

What was she thinking? She wasn't thinking all she could see was her daughter laying broken and battered in a hospital bed and this evil piece of crap was going to get away with it, the fact he was laughing it up in the courtroom while her little girl was comatose made her snap it would have made my blood boil to be honest.
