not perfect but.........

This movie isn't perfect. It has a lot of problems such as the following...

1. Sometimes the chessiness goes a wee bit too far--such as the dog talking scenes.

2. not a lot of white people are in this movie except as villians or idiots--that makes this movie racist.(just as it does when blacks claim the same about a movie with few if any black actors--such as King Kong, The Truman Show etc.)

3. most of the parts are badly acted.

4. horrible SFX.

there's more problems with this film --too many to mention in fact.
still-that being said this is a great film regardless of all the problems it has. It never takes itself too seriously, the costume is pretty cool-for a B-grade movie, and while the guy who plays Jeff/Meteor Man is okay it is Bill Cosby and Frank Gorshin who steal the show. There are some genuine laughs here as well.

The best thing about this movie though is the positive message woven into a family film and disguised as a "Superhero Spoof" . even kids will very likely love this goofy movie.

its a black movie discussing black society. the scene we do see of whites is also the scene in which we see rich people from all over the world, including luther vandross, other black people. the use of all these different groups were to convey that it is a united group of evil with no real merit based on race.

Although I do like this movie but Jeff should have had his powers after he slept. I do not agree with the community trying to make Jeff leave although he helped them. Since Jeff's powers were drained, he should have began a plan with the community to fight back with The Golden Lords. Although I do like the ending I think the community and Jeff should have beaten The Golden Lords without Jeff getting the meteor power back. The message about doing something about the gangs would have been conveyed better.

The cut scenes with Jeff learning how to fly better, over coming his fear of heights, and his love interest should have stayed in too.
