Beware if you want to buy the DVD

I have been looking for this movie on DVD. It is out of print according to Amazon.com. I tried Ebay, and found a new copy and bought it. I just got it in the mail today, and as soon as I started watching the DVD I realized something was wrong. I had seen this movie several times on Lifetime and I just about knew it by heart, so I recognized right away that parts were missing. I looked at the DVD case and saw to my surprise that the total running time is 105 minutes. When I first saw this 13 years ago, it ran over 2 nights so I knew that the DVD had been edited down from 4 hours to just over an hour and a half!! Many of the important parts were cut, and if someone had never seen this before, they would be lost! There were things that didn't make sense because 3 or 4 scenes were cut. I am very disappointed that I did not get the entire miniseries/movie. So please be careful if you find a copy...make sure that it has a running time of at least 4 hours.

The only release of this movie onto DVD is the edited version. Looks like it won't ever be released in its entirety - the full 4 hours. Very disappointing because I was looking to purchase it about a year or so ago and found that only this edited version exists. It's also very expensive. What a shame, you'd think if they were going to go to the trouble of releasing the DVD it would be the whole thing!!!

Hi... Seven years later and I have a good lead for you on getting this movie, unedited, on DVD...

This person sells *tons* of hard-to-find movies and this one is right on the first page, in the midst of other movies that begin with the letter "A". (Their lists aren't exactly alphabetical, but close.)

I just sent them a message about the length of the movie and I'll let ya know what they say when they answer.

Hope this helps!

This seller's movies are full length.
I'm getting this one and Blind Faith, myself...

Are the DVD's good quality?

Here's to those who wish me well...

All the ones I've gotten work perfectly and are good quality...

Movies like this should never be allowed to go out of print. That just isn't right. I'm sure it might take a while for copies to sell, but I can't believe a movie like this would never be bought. I think if a studio allows a movie to go out of print, they should give up copyright status and release it for free to sites such as YouTube and other movie streaming sites and it should be always in good condition.
