Believe it or not...

MMM actually gave people motion sickness in the theatre when it was released due to the use of the handheld camera through most of it; years later the same thing happened with THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT (though the jostling, handheld camera was much more extreme). Both times (saw them at the same theatre) an employee was cleaning up vomit on the stairs.

No bulls**t.

I didn't see it at the cinema so i cant really comment on the motion sickness thing.

However, seeing it on the small screen was great. I loved that camera movement, especially in the scene at the restaurant. It was like you were looking over people's shoulders and really becoming part of the movie. You felt you were in on the mystery.

I found the camera work great. I also saw the movie on the small screen, so likewise can't comment on the motion sickness thing. The hand held was used to great effect, I thought, when Ted left the wine tasting and was walking down the street. To me it conveyed that "half drunk - half trying to stay in control" feeling that seems all too familiar after having a few! ;) I loved the various sweep and zoom shots through out the movie as well.

I saw this on the big screen and I was ok, but I DID get sick when I saw Husbands and Wives. Big time.

Who knows, maybe I just liked this movie better!

I'd heard that about Woody's "Husbands and Wives" but not about "MMM." Funny, I didn't even notice it in "MMM."

It's fun to see Joy Behar. She's not bad in this!

Sorry, I have nothing to do with the subject of this thread except that it has the most appropriate caption for what I wish to say:

I watched the BBC news before starting to watch the movie. The BBC gave the news of 2 (two) blasts at the finishing line of Boston Marathon. As I sat to watch the movie Woody Allen mentions the same marathon! co-incidence!

I felt more sick from the camera work in Husbands and Wives.

I saw BWP in the theater and I remember that the theater had signs up warning people about the potential motion sickness issue due to the style of the film. I did NOT actually see anyone barf though. :P
