I saw it with a girl I used to date back in '96, so I was a junior or senior in high school at that time. Just watched it again on Comcast OnDemand and it brings back some memories. I loved this era of horror films, after the slasher era but before Scream brought about the new comedy-horror genre.

I just saw it on the mystery channel it was not a bad film, it had a very interesting concept a highly intelligent dog with enhanced abilities that is very clingy and overprotective, one of the best killer dog films out there, it really made you feel for Max considering all the torture he'd been through with the scientist and the seemingly nice mechanic who was actually an ass hole and was one of the people who deserved what happened to him.

Yes.

geez i remember seeing it as a little girl, about 7 years old. always loved this movie but i hate the ending :(

I couldn't hear my own footsteps. It was the walk of a dead man.

It's a good thriller. It doesn't deserve the rating 4.7. I gave it a solid 6.

I still think this is a decent movie, but it's never really lived up to how much I liked it, in the theater.

reply

You saw this in the theater? I don't even remember it playing near me, though I'm sure it did.

I can't defend this as a great film, but any movie this entertaining is worthwhile. Some of the special effects are cheesy, but there's a genuine amount of suspense and dark humor. Ally Sheedy is always a pleasure to watch, and Lance Henriksen brings credibility to many bare-bones projects, even though I wish he were in the film more. 7/10 stars from me.
