Yes, and that made no sense and it could have been used to provide another touching moment, which I think the viewers who were saddened by the tender moment between Lori and Max before his death needed. The writers should have had a touching scene with her and the puppy. They could have left us with the feeling that Lori was going to do all she could to make sure this puppy would be ok because Max, whom she cared for, was the father. Instead they chose to have a funny/creepy ending. So dumb, IMHO.
